How hard can it be to take some photos of a large metal horse? Quite hard, apparently. It’s not been for lack of trying or at least not just that. In the meantime we’ve been scooped, this time by the art critic at Ballard Gossip Girl who had the following review last December:
Blowing Sands Glass Studio is showing some fantastic sculpture by Dan Klennert. You can see a number of his works outside the studio …. We think they appeal to the mechanic in all of us, not only inspiring us to see the animal and human forms but to identify the individual parts. Well done, dudes!
I couldn’t have put it better myself. I’ve written before about rusted roadside architecture here; that post was about suburban dreams near Thorne Bay, Alaska. This one is a little closer to home. The Ballard Gossip Girl review continues:
They’re on display outside Blowing Sands Glass Studio on NW 14th Street, just up from Ballard Market near St. Alphonsus. Go check it out Art Fans!
The good news is they’re still there and, as Ballard GG says, this horse is awesome. It really is. Can we keep him? Please?
